RSA 2010 is pleased to offer its participants and accompanying persons five optional pre and post conference tours which will showcase some of the best aspects of Cairns.

These tours are not included in registration fees. If you would like to book a tour, please indicate when registering. These tours are available from Sunday 30 May – Wednesday 2 June and Sunday 6 June – Tuesday 8 June.

OT1: Half Day Green Island Tour and Snorkelling
Time: Departure from Cairns 08.30, 10.30, 13.00

World famous Green Island is a tropical cay just 45 minutes from Cairns. Situated in the Great Barrier Reef and surrounded by white sandy beaches and sapphire blue waters, Green Island is perfect for that ultimate island getaway.

Tour Includes: Return Hotel transfers, morning tea, snorkelling equipment, glass bottom boat coral viewing, exclusive use of island swimming pool, self guided eco island walk, use of day visitor facilities, beach bag and lunch. Beverages are not included and are charged on consumption on the day

OT2: Hartley's Crocodile Farm
Time: 12:00 -17:30hrs

Situated on the magnificent coastal drive between the popular destinations of Palm Cove and Port Douglas. Hartley's Crocodile Adventures is the best place to see crocodiles and native wildlife in Tropical North Queensland. Set in the foothills of the MacAlister Range, in a World Heritage listed area, Hartley's Crocodile Adventures is home to a range of habitat types including melaleuca wetlands, riverine rainforest and eucalypt woodland.

Hartley's Crocodile Adventures provides an innovative approach to viewing and interacting with wildlife, enabling visitors to become immersed in a natural environment with safety. A series of timber boardwalks provide elevated viewing of wildlife as visitors journey through a range of natural habitats.

Tour Includes: Return Coach Transfers, Professional Driver/Guide, entry to Hartley's Crocodile Adventures and Lunch.

OT3: Cape Tribulation 4WD Safari
Time: 07:00 – 18:30hrs
Cost: $169 per person

Cape Tribulation and Daintree River ToursThe Daintree Coast is part of one of Australia 's largest remaining stands of tropical rainforest with a last refuge for some unique plants and animals which have evolved here over many millions of years. The Daintree Coast is a small part of the Kuku Yalanji tribal area and has great spiritual and cultural significance for these people.

Jindalba is the traditional Kuku Yalanji people's name for this area. This 700 metre rainforest boardwalk circuit winds up the hill and sometimes reaches 4 metres off the ground. It offers some elevated views of this lowland rainforest, including king ferns and fig trees. The information signs explain the complexities of rainforest structure and ecological processes - how different species have evolved to survive in the rainforest environment.

Tour Includes: Return Hotel Transfers, Professional Driver/Guide, Morning Tea and Lunch in Rainforest Setting.

OT4: Full day Outer Reef Experience
Time: 08:30 – 17:30hrs
Cost: $225 per person

The Great Barrier Reef is one of only two life forms visible from the moon. Naturalists' estimate that a simple reef composed of millions of tiny coral creatures may act as a shelter for over 500 fish species, more than are to be found in the Atlantic Ocean.

The reef is enormous. Its northern most point is in the Gulf of Papua and it extends south to the Tropic of Capricorn along 2,300 kilometres of coastline and covering an area of 230,000 square kilometres. The reef coast is dotted with hundreds of islands, which have their own fringing reefs.

Tour Includes: Return Hotel transfers, morning and afternoon teas, tropical smorgasbord lunch, snorkel equipment, coral viewing semi-submersible, underwater observatory and informative talk by a marine biologist.

OT5: Kuranda Scenic Railway, Rainforestion & Skyrail Experience
Time: 07:00 – 17:30hrs
Cost: $220 per person

Experience the contrast of the regions oldest & most picturesque railway & the invisible technology of the world's most beautiful cableway in one day. The group will be collected the Hotel and be transferred to Freshwater Station. Here they will aboard the Kuranda Scenic Train. Upon arrival in Kuranda, the group will have time at leisure to discover the local markets and surrounds. The group will then commence their journey on the Sky Rail.

They will be amazed as they glide silently above the rainforest canopy on the world's most beautiful rainforest experience. There are two stations enroute where guests can alight & enjoy a walk through the rainforest to spectacular lookouts & views.

Includes: Return Hotel Transfers, Professional Driver/Guide, one way Kuranda Scenic Railway pass, Admission into Rainforestation, Aussie BBQ lunch and one way Skyrail pass.

These tours are designed by arinex Destination Management (license No. 2TA001144), for participating delegates and accompanying persons of the Renal Society of Australasia Conference. Only the best aspects of Cairns and its environs have been incorporated to provide value for money for persons whose time is at a premium.

All sightseeing tours include informative English speaking commentary, all entry & booking fees and meals where specified.

All tours are based on a minimum number of participants. If minimum numbers are not reached, alternative arrangements or a complete refund will be made. Places on all tours are limited and will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of payment. Where participants cancel their tour bookings prior to 3 May 2010, payment will be refunded in full. Thereafter, no refund will be made.

Cancellation Fees

Prior to 3 May 2010 , full refund less A$100.00 administration fee applies. After this date no refunds will be applicable.

Late Fees

If bookings are received for post tours after 3 May 2010 , a late fee of A$100.00 per booking will be applicable.
